Call of interest - community representative
Have you experienced poverty first hand? Are you interested in working towards the common goal of reducing poverty in our territory? The Nunavut Roundtable for Poverty Reduction is looking for a community representative who can act in an advisory role to its secretariat by representing the perspective of the day to day realities of living in poverty. The voice of a participant who has experienced poverty first hand is important in finding solutions for poverty reduction in Nunavut, and we value your opinion.
About the Nunavut Roundtable for Poverty Reduction
The Roundtable is a forum for organizations that are committed to a shared understanding of poverty and a shared approach to reducing poverty in Nunavut as expressed in the Makimaniq Plan. Roundtable gatherings provide an opportunity for communities to work together to recommend ideas and actions to address poverty. The Roundtable is also committed to supporting community driven initiatives.
The Roundtable is co-chaired by the Government of Nunavut and Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. Other Roundtable members include regional Inuit associations, municipalities, non-government organizations, community groups, and businesses. The Roundtable also includes representative seats at each gathering for youth, elders, persons with disabilities, and persons with lived experience of poverty.

What we are looking for
