The Nunavut Anti-Poverty Secretariat

The Nunavut Anti-Poverty Secretariat was created April 1, 2010 to prepare and implement a poverty reduction strategy for Nunavut. The Nunavut Anti-Poverty Secretariat also is responsible for the design and delivery of specific government programs to address poverty reduction. Currently these focus on country food distribution systems.

The secretariat works in partnership with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc.'s Department of Social and Cultural Development, and together they support the Nunavut Roundtable for Poverty Reduction, which has an open membership and includes individuals and organizations from across Nunavut.

The secretariat operates with a staff of four, housed within the Department of Economic Development and Transportation in Iqaluit.
